| Wong performed cost estimating services
for the demolition of the existing Recreation Center Facility
at Ocean View Park and the new construction of the Minnie and
Lovie Ward Recreation Center Project. The work included preparing
demolition cost estimates on the existing building structures
and their related utilities. The facilities included three structures
as follows:
- Field House which was a two-story 5500 square
foot concrete building with composite built-up roofing.
- Gymnasium which was a 14,670 square foot, single
story structure with 38-foot high laminated wood arch enclosure
with wood and stucco siding.
- Storage and Restroom, which was a 1,620 square
foot, single story concrete building with tile roof.
The goal was to develop an estimated difference in facility downtimes,
construction cost, and construction schedule for two options of
construction sequencing. Complexity of the work on the project
was increased due to the requirement to have the facility remain
operational as long as possible, while the new center is under
construction. |
