San Bruno Jail No. 3 Project

Wong provided construction inspection, office engineering, and construction administration services for the San Bruno Jail Project. The scope of work included the civil site work including roadways and parking lots, retaining walls, sanitary sewer pump station, domestic and fire water pump station, water tank, diesel fuel storage tank, security fences, and various utilities.

The San Francisco County Jail No. 3 Replacement Project replaces the existing Jail No. 3 built in 1934 and provides a 768 bed, maximum security detention facility for the San Francisco Sheriff's Department (SFSD). The new Jail No. 3 (205,226 sq. ft.) is a "four-leaf clover" design with four housing pods and a square core. Each of the four housing pods extends from one side of the core and consists of 96 double occupancy cells, on four levels with two recreation areas. The core contains classroom, counseling, library, medical and dental space.

This facility also includes a new Administration Building; deputy station and main gate; sanitary sewer pump station; domestic and fire water pump station; 650,000 gallon water tank; three new parking lots; and security fencing, retaining walls, roadways and various utility distribution systems.
