Muni PCC Historical Project

As a prime consultant, Wong provided engineering, inspections, and testing/startup services for the rehabilitation of the PCC Historical Street Cars that run today on the Muni F-line. The line extends along Market Street and terminates at Fisherman's Warf.

The historic vehicles have been returned to their original condition. The key elements of the refurbishment program include:

  • Car body repaired
  • Vehicle wiring replacement
  • Propulsion system refurbishment
  • Interior reconstruction to original design

Wong also performed the cost-benefit analyses for the procurement oversight of the Muni PCC cars. Wong's responsibilities included project management, cost estimating, design review, first article inspection, field modification inspection, reliability analyses, vehicle testing, and documentation of final acceptance.
