| Wong led the Joint Venture design
team on two critical segments of the Third Street Project and corridor-wide
support services. This 5.4-mile new light rail transit line extension
expands the Muni Metro through the Third Street alignment to Visitacion
Valley, enabling the entire San Francisco community and the Bay
Area, through BART, to be accessed from anywhere along Third Street.
This is the longest extension to the Muni LRT System since its
inception.
This $648 million project includes all aspects of engineering
design such as:
- Civil
- Track and Trackway
- Structures
- Integration with Highways
- Overcrossings and Bridges
- Geotechnical Investigations
- Vibration Mitigation
- Traction Power
- Signaling
- Traffic Preemption
Due to the unique nature of several segments within the Third
Street Project, Wong has provided special attention to the management
and coordination for traction power and train control. Unique
design solutions applied to the Islais Creek Bridge, as well as
at freight crossings. |
